Basecoat the clay pots and saucers with soft yellow acrylic craft paint, leaving the top band on the pot plain. Apply a second coat, if necessary. Set aside to dry.

Paint the sombrero hatbands in bright colors with the paintbrush. Apply a second coat, if necessary. Set aside to dry.

Once dry, attach a contrasting color of the rick rack to the sombrero hatband using a glue gun a glue sticks. Trim to size with scissors and secure the ends.

Adhere mini pom-pom ball fringe in a coordinating color to the outside edge of the sauce with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim to size with scissors and secure the ends with additional glue.

Stack the pot upside down in the center of the saucer to create Clay Pot Sombrero. Adhere with a glue gun, if desired, or leave the pot separate from the saucer for easy storage.

To finish the Flowerpot Sombreros, glue a pom-pom in a coordinating bright color to cover the drain hole in the bottom of the clay pot.
