Create these adorable and posable felt heart people for Valentine's Day! A perfect and easy-to-make Valentine Craft for Kids that can be done in just about 30 minutes with a few simple supplies.
Gather all supplies. Download Felt Heart People Pockets Patterns, print and cut out. Trace large and small hearts onto Medium Pink, Dark Pink, Bright Pink, Bright Lavender, Red, and Light Pink craft felt with a permanent marker.
Cut out large hearts using pinking shears and scallop shears for fabric. If you don’t have pinking shears, cut fun patterns around the edges with straight scissors. Cut out small hearts with straight scissors. TIP: Cut inside all the traced lines for a clean, finished project.
Match up large and small hearts in pairs. Add chenille stems in complimentary colors. The kids love using a variety of fun color combinations for these heart people. Attach the small hearts to the large hearts with a glue gun and glue sticks, leaving the top open, and creating the pocket. If crafting with younger children, liquid craft glue works, just figure in drying time.
Cut chenille stem into four equal lengths with scissors. Cut stem in half and then cut those two sections in half again. Bend the ends of two sections of chenille stems into legs with rectangular feet and the other two into arms with circular hands. Attach the arms and legs to the felt heart bodies with a glue gun and glue sticks. Tuck the cut ends of the chenille stem arms and legs in between the felt layers to cover any sharp wire ends.
Cut one-half-inch by one-half-inch squares from Light Pink and Medium Pink craft felt and then trim those squares into circles with scissors to create cheeks. To create the face, attach two cheeks and two wiggle eyes to each felt heart with a glue gun and glue sticks. Using a permanent marker draw a semi-circle smile onto the Felt Heart People Pockets from cheek to cheek.
