Start by painting the popsicle sticks with whichever flesh tone paint you chose and allow them to dry.
With your scissors, cut the large popsicle stick just below the halfway mark.
Cut ¼ off of two of the regular popsicle sticks to form legs. Alternatively, you can cut one straight across and one at an angle to show different ballet poses with the legs.
Cut the last popsicle stick on an angle on both sides to create the arms of your ballerina.
Now you are ready to attach the arms and legs. Turn your popsicle sticks over so that the painted side is down.
Put a dab of glue on the back of the large popsicle stick at the cut end and attach the two regular sticks to the large stick so that when you turn it over, it looks like a torso with legs.
Attach the arm pieces using a little hot glue to the back as well.
Now that everything is glued you can turn your ballerina back over and you will be able to see that the shape is coming together.
Where the feet would be located, color some ballet shoes with ribbons onto the popsicle sticks.
Color the hair, eyes, and mouth. Also, color in the upper torso of the ballerina with a fun color that matches your cupcake liner tutu you have picked.
On the top of the ballerina’s head, put a small dab of glue and place a pom-pom in the matching color of the ballerina’s hair.
Take a cupcake liner and fold it in half and flatten it so it creates the tutu.
Dab a bit of glue on the lower part of the ballerina’s torso and place the cupcake liner on top.
Your ballerina is now complete! Make several different ones and you can have a whole troupe.
