How to make a clay pot Uncle Sam hat craft!

Gather all supplies.


Basecoat clay pot inside and outside with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Basecoat the terra cotta saucer with blue acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. The paint dries quickly on the clay surface of the pot and saucer.

Using a small flat paintbrush, paint vertical red stripes around the clay pot.


If working with younger kids you can use red tape or self-adhesive red craft foam, or even felt. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.


Then paint a one-inch-wide blue strip at the base of the clay pot. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Download, print and cut out the star patterns. Trace the star onto the back of the silver glitter craft foam five times, and cut out with scissors.
