By: Melissa Coleman Last Updated: Sep 27, 2023 This post may contain affiliate links.

It's Shark Week! So of course we thought we would drum up a fun popsicle stick shark craft in honor of this week-long extravaganza.

Fun fact, did you know that Shark Week has been around since 1988? Wow, right? So if you live for shark week or even if you don't how about rounding up the kiddos for a fun craft to celebrate.

Don't get scared, he doesn't bite!

Don't get scared, he doesn't bite! This popsicle stick shark craft is a cutey and perfect for little hands to celebrate shark week.

Materials you will need:

  • craft paint & brush
  • craft sticks
    - 8 small and 7 regular size
  • wiggly eyes
  • white construction paper
  • craft glue
  • magnet (optional)

How to create a popsicle stick shark craft!

First you want to start off by laying out your 7 regular size craft sticks and gluing 2 smaller ones across the top and bottom. This is to make your shark body stay together. Allow to fully dry before moving on.

While the body is drying you can glue the fins together using the additional 6 small craft sticks. Glue them at the top with the sides spread just apart so they make a "semi" triangle shape.

Now you are ready to paint your shark. We painted ours gray as you can see in the photos but you could use blue, black, etc. Pick a color you would like your shark and paint his body and fins.

Once the paint is completely dry you can now attach his fins. For his bottom fins glue them by the narrow end and his top fin is glued by the larger part.

The last part of this craft is gluing on his wiggly eyes and jagged teeth. For his teeth, we just used white construction paper and cut out a toothy design. You could also use white paint. All done!

Don't get scared, he doesn't bite! This popsicle stick shark craft is a cutey and perfect for little hands to celebrate shark week.

Did you know you can make this little guy into a fridge magnet? Just hot glue a magnet to the back and he is ready to show off his toothy grin to all your shark week visitors.

Don't get scared, he doesn't bite! This popsicle stick shark craft is a cutey and perfect for little hands to celebrate shark week.
