Hey there, crafty parents and adventurous kiddos! Today, we're diving into the world of winter crafts with a delightful and cozy project: the Popsicle Stick Hot Chocolate Mug.

How to make a popsicle stick hot chocolate mug craft for kids

Gather all supplies. To create the mug, line up six jumbo craft sticks on your work surface.

Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the mug and attach them with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Download, print, and cut out the cocoa mug patterns. Using a marker, trace the mug handle onto a scrap of cardboard.

Cut out with scissors, making sure to cut inside the traced lines for a clean, finished project.

Paint the front and sides of the mug and handle with blue acrylic craft paint.

Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Attach the handle to the mug with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Basecoat the wooden snowflake with white acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

I have provided a snowflake pattern just in case you can't find a snowflake. You could easily make one out of construction paper or white foam.

Trace the hot cocoa pattern onto brown craft foam with a marker. Attach to the top of the mug with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Glue small white tinsel pom poms into the hot cocoa, these are the marshmallows. Attach the snowflake to the mug with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Attach two wiggle eyes to the snowflake with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Create cheeks by dipping a new pencil eraser into pink acrylic craft paint and stamping on either side of the face.

Draw a mouth with a black marker from cheek to cheek.

Finish by outlining the snowflake with iridescent glitter glue for some extra sparkle.

Create this fun popsicle stick hot chocolate mug to work on shapes, cutting, colors, and counting with the kiddos. Make learning FUN!

Make a bunch of mugs and add names with a marker to create fun place cards for a Hot Chocolate party.
