This past weekend we made some cinnamon bread and didn’t have any icing to go with it. But I did have all the ingredients to make homemade powdered sugar icing so that is exactly what we did.
It tastes just as great (if not better) than any icing pack. It’s delish!

Ingredients for the best cinnamon roll icing
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon milk
How to make easy powdered sugar icing
Mix together the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla. I like to add in half the powdered sugar at a time to get it mixed up well. Then add in your milk.
If you prefer a slightly less sweet Cinnamon Roll Icing, you can gradually add powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired level of sweetness.
Feel free to adjust and taste test along the way.
I also like to warm it up just a little so that it drizzles well. If you have any leftover it will keep in the fridge for a couple days.
