Pumpkin Spiced Latte Recipe

Learn how to make a Pumpkin Spiced Latte in your own kitchen.

Crafted with genuine pumpkin purée and infused with the comforting essence of pumpkin pie spice, this exceptional homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe is here to captivate your taste buds.

Embrace this concoction as a delightful addition to your morning coffee routine or as a scrumptious afternoon indulgence that uplifts your spirits!

This photo features a two cups of pumpkin spiced latte sitting on a white bead board table, next to it is a orange and white striped tea towel and wooden spoon.

What I love about being able to make a homemade latte is that you can enjoy the warm flavors of the fall anytime you want.

The elements that constitute this homemade pumpkin spiced latte are modest, requiring only a handful of simple ingredients.

This results in a luxuriously creamy and flavor-packed cozy drink.

Unlike many of the overly sugared, coffee shop version that tends to leave you feeling underwhelmed, this creation is naturally sweetened, promising a far more satisfying experience.

It has that caffeine we crave with the kick of warm spices we love when it is time to get cozy during the fall months.

A real treat after being out in the cold this time of year and who doesn't love a treat that tastes just like fall in a mug.

Why you'll love this recipe!

  • Naturally Sweetened:

Unlike commercial options loaded with excessive sugars, this recipe relies on the innate sweetness of real ingredients, ensuring a delightful fall flavor without the sugar rush.

  • Genuine Pumpkin Goodness:

Authentic pumpkin puree infuses every sip, providing an unmistakable and rich pumpkin essence that complements the cozy spice blend.

  • Homemade Satisfaction:

Crafting this homemade version gives you the creative control to make it just the way you like it, ensuring a personally tailored treat that matches your preferences.

  • Healthier Alternative:

With a focus on real ingredients and mindful sweetness (less sugar), this latte allows you to indulge without compromising your wellness goals, making it a guilt-free pleasure.

  • Cost-Effective:

Preparing your own pumpkin spice latte is not only rewarding but also cost-effective in comparison to purchasing specialty beverages from coffee shops.

Recommended Tools!

Small Saucepan
Espresso Machine
Milk frother (optional if you want to froth the milk but not necessary)
Large mug (I really enjoy these clear ones so you can see the nice latte color)

Ingredients you need for homemade pumpkin spiced latte

  • 2 cups of whole milk (you can sub for any kind of milk such as oat milk, coconut milk, soy milk, cashew milk, etc)
  • 2 tablespoons pure real pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar (based on preference)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup brewed coffee

How do you make a pumpkin spiced latte from scratch?

In a small saucepan, whisk together the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon.

Heat over medium heat (or medium-low) until the mixture begins to steam. Avoid bringing the mixture to a boil.

When the milk is hot, whisk the mixture quickly until bubbles begin to form.

Pour ½ cup coffee into each mug. Top the coffee with the milk mixture.

Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice if desired. Makes the perfect pumpkin flavor in a pick me up morning drink.
